WHAT IS AN ERP?
ERP stands for “Enterprise Resource Planning”. We call this the type of software that companies use to automate the processes of their commercial, administrative and accounting areas.
It is a single software, so that the information flows between the processes in a natural way and there is no duplication of data or tasks, which ensures the integrity of the system.
An ERP also contains multiple reports and views for managers to analyze what is happening in the company.
Currently an ERP is an essential software for the management of a company of any size.
At Next Systems de México we have developed several ERPs over 30 years. We currently have the ERP BIZone and we are about to replace it with a new version that we call Nextrong.
DOES AN ERP COVER ALL THE PROCESSES OF THE COMPANY?
No. An ERP covers the typical processes of a company in a high percentage; in some cases 100%. However, companies always have unique needs that are not covered by any ERP. To cover these needs, additional programs such as spreadsheets, payroll programs, etc. are usually used.
But, for some needs that are key for the company, the most convenient thing is to develop special software. And it should be a requirement that this software integrates with the ERP to maintain data integrity.
At Next Systems de México we offer special developments integrated into our ERP.
